Dancing in the Minefields
I remember reading books on the topic of dating in high school. They said “don’t date, you have absolutely no chance of marrying who you date in high school—and even if you do, it won’t turn out well.”
I always knew Kyle was different than the boys I read about in those books. We always knew we were different, and we had faith that God had a plan for our relationship. When we got engaged, we took a huge leap of faith at such a young age, and we went dancing in the minefields. We got criticized by almost everyone we knew, but we didn’t care. It’s been harder and more beautiful than we ever could have dreamed, and I wouldn’t change it for a thing.
I can’t wait to see what the next few decades hold for us. I can’t wait to look back on 10, 20, 30 years of marriage (and more) and know that we went dancing in the minefields and came out even stronger.
Today I’d like to share this sweet, sweet song with you.
